Working Families vice chair Helen Humphreys is taking over as chair of the work-life balance charity.
She starts in the role today and replaces Tim Oliver, who had been chair for more than five years.
“We are thrilled with Helen’s appointment as our new chair, said Working Families chief executive Jane van Zyl.
“Thanks to her tireless work as vice-chair we are getting the best of both worlds: continuity and change all in one.
“Helen became a trustee over five years ago and thoroughly understands the charity, yet in this new role will bring a fresh perspective.”
Humphreys, who has also chaired the charity’s people and governance committee, added: “I’m very excited to be taking on the role of Chair at Working Families at such a key time, as we work to build flexible and family friendly working into our post pandemic world.
“Working parents and carers have had an incredibly tough time over the pandemic, and our support for them has never been more needed.”
The charity focuses on supporting working parents and carers and promoting the values of a good work life balance among employers. It provides legal advice on workers’ rights and supports employers on issues such as flexible working.
